CIPS Level 5 in Leeds
Study the CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply in the classroom in Leeds, at Novotel Leeds, just a 4-minute walk from Leeds station. It's the next step after Level 4, building the management-level skills you need in risk, contracts and leading teams, and completing it makes you an Associate Member of CIPS.
The course runs over 14 months, with 15 tutor-led study days. Before each CIPS exam series you have three study days: two covering the learning outcomes and a third for revision and exam technique. Small, discussion-based classes mean you learn from experienced procurement professionals across Yorkshire as well as your tutor.

Your Leeds study centre is Novotel Leeds, 4 Whitehall Quay, Leeds, LS1 4HR, a 4-minute walk from Leeds railway station, with an onsite car park. The venue offers free Wi-Fi and complimentary tea and coffee. Study days start at 09:30 and finish around 15:30.
Your tutor
Dr Paul Wright MCIPS has worked across the public and private sectors and co-wrote Excellence in Public Sector Procurement. Paul is also a CIPS Direct Associate who marks CIPS assessments and exams, so he knows exactly what examiners look for at Level 5 and builds that into every study day.
Syllabus (CIPS Level 5 modules)
You study five core modules and three electives, worth 60 credits in total:
- Managing Teams and Individuals (L5M1, core)
- Managing Supply Chain Risk (L5M2, core)
- Managing Contractual Risk (L5M3, core)
- Advanced Contract and Financial Management (L5M4, core)
- Managing Ethical Procurement and Supply (L5M5, core)
- Category Management (L5M6, elective)
- Achieving Competitive Advantage Through the Supply Chain (L5M7, elective)
- Project and Change Management (L5M8, elective)
Assessments
You sit two three-hour written exams, with a pass mark of 50%, and six 90-minute multiple choice exams, with a pass mark of 70%.
