CIPS Level 4 Online
Study the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply online, with live, tutor-led study days you can join from anywhere in the UK or further afield. It's the most popular starting point for a career in procurement and the first step towards MCIPS Chartered status, and many of our learners go on to study Level 5 and Level 6 with us.
This isn't a recorded course. You learn live with your tutor and group, over 14 months and 15 study days. Before each CIPS exam series you have three study days: two covering the learning outcomes and a third for revision and exam technique.

How online study works
Study days run live in a virtual classroom from 09:30 to around 15:00, with the same content, tutor support and exam preparation as our classroom courses. You'll need a computer with a reliable internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Between study days, all your materials and revision resources are in our Google Classroom.
Your tutor
Mike Donnelly FCIPS is a former Chief Procurement Officer at Shell who has also held executive roles at Arla. He has led teams of more than 480 people across 35 countries and managed annual spend of $5.4bn. Mike is also a CIPS Direct Associate, so he brings real-world procurement leadership and a clear understanding of what CIPS examiners look for.
Syllabus (CIPS Level 4 modules)
The Diploma has eight compulsory modules, worth 60 credits in total:

- Defining Business Need (L4M2)
- Commercial Contracting (L4M3)
- Ethical and Responsible Sourcing (L4M4)
- Commercial Negotiation (L4M5)
- Supplier Relationships (L4M6)
- Whole Life Asset Management (L4M7)
- Procurement and Supply in Practice (L4M8)
Assessments
Six modules are assessed by 90-minute multiple choice exams, with a pass mark of 70%. L4M1 and L4M8 are assessed by three-hour written exams, with a pass mark of 50%.
