CIPS Level 4 in Leeds
Study the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply in the classroom in Leeds, at Novotel Leeds, just a 4-minute walk from Leeds station. It's the most popular starting point for a career in procurement and the first step towards MCIPS Chartered status.
The course runs over 14 months, with 15 tutor-led study days. Before each CIPS exam series you have three study days: two covering the learning outcomes and a third for revision and exam technique. Small, discussion-based classes mean you learn from other procurement professionals across Yorkshire as well as your tutor.

Venue and session times
Your Leeds study centre is Novotel Leeds, 4 Whitehall Quay, Leeds, LS1 4HR, a 4-minute walk from Leeds railway station, with an onsite car park. The venue offers free Wi-Fi and complimentary tea and coffee. Study days start at 09:30 and finish around 15:30.
Your tutor
Dr Paul Wright MCIPS has worked across the public and private sectors and co-wrote Excellence in Public Sector Procurement. Paul is also a CIPS Direct Associate who marks CIPS assessments and exams, so he knows exactly what examiners look for and builds that into every study day.
Syllabus (CIPS Level 4 modules)
The Diploma has eight compulsory modules, worth 60 credits in total:
- Scope and Influence of Procurement and Supply (L4M1)
- Defining Business Need (L4M2)
- Commercial Contracting (L4M3)
- Ethical and Responsible Sourcing (L4M4)
- Commercial Negotiation (L4M5)
- Supplier Relationships (L4M6)
- Whole Life Asset Management (L4M7)
- Procurement and Supply in Practice (L4M8)
Assessments
Six modules are assessed by 90-minute multiple choice exams, with a pass mark of 70%. L4M1 and L4M8 are assessed by three-hour written exams, with a pass mark of 50%.
